In general, the spatial models predicted a less stiff behavior of the analyzed dome than the planar models. A detailed comparison between the systems’ and models’ predictions was made. The results of the static (with two kinds of load-self-weight and load distributed along the upper ring) and modal analyses are presented. Different models were also analyzed-two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) ones using continuum, bar, and shell finite elements. Four computational systems were used, namely Abaqus, Autodesk Robot, Dlubal RFEM, and FEAS. The present paper puts forward a new method of verification and validation of the structural analyses upon an illustrative example of a dome strengthened by circumferential ribs along the upper and lower edges.

Any assessment of reliability of such analyses is difficult and can only be approximate. This certainly limits the usefulness of Markups in an active Revit project.The designers of civil engineering structures often have to face the problem of the reliability of complex computational analyses performed most often with the Finite Element Method (FEM). Delete the old files added and upload new ones when changed. There does not seem to be versioning in this Web app. Again, I don’t see a way to select an element and see its properties. In 3D, there is a Model browser button and some properties show up when clicked. There doesn’t seem to be a way to select elements and see their properties in this Web app. I recommend Greenshot to take screenshots. There is an Export button but it only seems to make a PDF of Markups and Comments of those made under my current username.Īs a workaround, I’d just take screenshots and put them in a Google Doc or something. There is a Resolved checkbox which filters what markups and comments appear. With the Comments button on, a continual screenshot is shown on the right.
